@Tam: Honestly, I think you're giving Moffat too much credit.
Reddit is utter trash, what did you expect?

Cut him some slack, Strax is still pretty new to this whole "measured response" thing.
Weird how Vastra straight-up eats bad guys but it's the guy who's interested in actual combat everyone frets over.
Eh? Not like he hasn't pulled that sort of trick before.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Yeah, what said. I would add "Constantly." at the end of Wack'd's bit.
...there's really no basis on which to say Missy is evil, even just going by this episode. She's straight-up resurrecting folks. Seems pretty benevolent to me.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Missy just has sort of an evil vibe. And not to be too harsh on Michelle Gomez, who I'm sure is a lovely person, but she does have what I'd term an evil face.

Song of the SirensI had Matt's bit spoiled for me by British tabloids, so it didn't hit me too hard, but I appreciated what it added to the context of the episode.
Capaldi looks like he's spent thirty or forty years in a Glasgow razor gang, only not just as cannon fodder. He's got the look of long experience but he was soo good at it that he didn't get the scars on his face. Just the lines you get when you continually remove people from their spleens. In short, he looks far more evil to me than Missy did.
I wasn't spoiled for anything, which is nice.
Interesting everyone's asking about Missy and no-one's asking about The Promised Land/Paradise/Heaven, heh.
DumboI just found the delivery utterly hilarious. I love that guy.
It's your God, they're your rules, you go to hell." - Mark TwainBecause it's fairly transparently the City of the Saved.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. Some of the dialog was just great, Clara's "he'll have my back" bit, the Doctor not liking mimes, Vastra going a bit nationalistic declaring "in the name of hue he British Empire" and more.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ Cyran@Missy
She's hammy, therefore evil.
It's a basic rule of Doctor Who.
Well that was fun! I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the episode, and the little q&a afterwards in the cinemas.
Was Clara talking about the 'fake nerd girl' stigma in that conversation with vastra early on?
The internet is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it-William GibsonFrom a Certain Point of View. I doubt the Slitheen, the Cybermen, the Daleks or the Racnoss would agree.
Wack'd.....uh, it's not obvious if you don't know what that is.
DumboWith Missy, it's more that she's so exceedingly nice it seems excessive, and thus comes off as sort of fake. That doesn't in itself imply evil, but does imply ulterior motives.
The owner of this account is temporarily unavailable. Please leave your number and call again later.I'm curious what part of this episode Wach'd originally took so much offence to as being 'Moffat proving himself to be everything Tumblr thinks him to be' (paraphrasing)
The painting fake out scene. Comes off better on screen than in the script, but still really skeevy and objectifying.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. That "naked" scene was so much less than made out to be.
Yay Jenny kind of asserting herself. Boo the constant Have I Mentioned I Am Homosexual Today!
Fresh-eyed movie blogThat new theme tune sounded very synth-heavy. Lots of bleeps and bloops.
The kiss seemed a smidge contrived too, but otherwise it was a great episode, one of the best post-regen episodes. A real rollercoaster of an episode. Mr sandifer will probably have something wordy to say about it.
The internet is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it-William GibsonI missed that bit. The theme tune was drowned out by my dad phoning me. Deliberately. At the start of the episode. After I specifically told him not to.
I'm going to get my rewengey.

@Painting Scene I'm just happy that Doctor Who is portraying a homosexual couple who can mutually enjoy a sexual recreational past time.
Though I apriciate criticisms that Moffat isn't portraying it well enough; I'm just of the view point that portrayal of such a thing at all is above par.

Wow, this is the first time in a long time I've heard people talking about Doctor Who complain about 'The Homosexual Agenda'.
Shame on you Reddit/r/Doctor Who.
