Amazing how much character exposition this completely trivial NPC manages to sneak in during the approximately second-and-a-half we see him on screen. Talking Is a Free Action indeed.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"With regards to Commander Gherant, my line for him would've been "Well jump anyway! It's dramatic."
Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.Holy fucking shit, they played us again.

We've been trolled again. These goddamn geniuses.
My various fanfics. This one we really should have seen coming
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for you?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."To quote Admiral Ackbar from a previous page:
"Oh my god! It's not a trap! We're just prats!"
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...They explicitly showed a "Path to the Dark Side". Then they showed a character walk down it under our very noses. It was a huge reveal.
Then they explicitly showed a "Path to the Light Side". They couldn't have telegraphed this harder if they had wanted to. And it flew right over our heads.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youNobody guessed what the opposite of totalitarism was. Not even Luke.
The last step has to be Inner Peace or a symonym of some kind. After all, that's the opposite of suffering that fits the most.
,, You're welcome.

If Vader can flip to the Light Side, I can flip my own meme.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I'm guessing the last step will be letting go.
My various fanfics. Is this a thing that webcomic authors do — compete to see who can pull off the most elaborate plot setups? I love it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"And today's strip is a multiple of 50 so:
Updated Pac-Mans & Power Pellets
And new bonus strip.
Kind of amazed that the Comics Irregulars have managed to keep this gag going for over 9 years.
That's the bonus strip released with the strip 1450. In fact, you mentioned it before. There seems to be no bonus strip for now.
EDIT - Turns out there is an announcement about this.

Whoops. My bad.
Knew it. I knew it and Vader is already doing it.
I hope they'll still do something about the ghost of Anakin. He still needs to appear alongside the others like in ROTJ proper, but it wouldn't make sense right now... Anakin is still rambling mad evil.
Unless they're emitting that scene entirely or doing a "special edition photoshop" of their own.
They'll photoshop in Padme's ghost
My various fanfics. If they use the original, Hayden-Christensen-free version of the shot there's no issue. The next few strips will presumably establish that Padme looks like a pasty old bastard under the mask, so her ghost looking like the same pasty old bastard is hardly surprising.
I just want something else done, to be honest. By letting the the ghost of Anakin take over the finale between Luke-Vader-Palpatine, and having his personality reduced to all the subtlety of a You Tube commenter, I feel the finale has been one big letdown. Vader following the steps is clever, sure... but I feel like being "clever" isn't always the same as being "good".
Obi-Wan vs Anakin wasn't just about being "clever", it had a long, extensive, beautiful character introspection, while this only gets it on at best a couple pages and the rest of it is the ghost yelling at everyone. It would have been nice to explore how this Vader was different, but we don't have that... it's barely a couple pages that Luke even gets to argue with Vader...
Sigh.
Douple post because comic update
Looks like some photoshop is getting involved after all.
Missing from today's comic:a simplistic Piloting roll for Corey that he could've taken 10 on were it not for the fact that failure would've meant kaboom.
Happy Force of May, everyone! May the Fourth be with you! Fireworks at about 10:40 PM EDT!

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.P'fft; can't propose in front of an audience. I'll tell ya, that's a good way to make the audience break character if you do it right.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.
Doubt it. All the hair probably had to be shaved off to account for the helmet.
There;s a reason the military likes shaved heads, after all.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...
