By the way, I bet Seffie knows perfectly well what happened to Tarvek, but is putting up an act in front of Agatha to stay in her good graces (just like when she avoided showing up with Tweedle during the chase). Tweedle probably doesn't even know Tarvek is around.

@50321 I wouldn't have articulated it as such before you mentioned it. But now that you have, yes, he totally has a Johnny Bravo vibe.

@50324 Well, I can think of another reason, on a practical level - it might cause another incident if she were to whallop the man most commonly recognized as the Storm King right in the face. Maybe one that would be resolved relatively quickly, but still, she doesn't have a ton of time right now.

She'll just put it on the tab his mouth keeps running up.

[up]It's a really big tab.

Also, I'm with Seffi: it doesn't matter whether Agatha is an acquaintance, potential friend or bosom buddy. Any way you cut it, brother dearest opening his mouth like that around anybody you hope to impress is a red card.

The terrible thing is, I don't think Tweedle is trying to impress Agatha. I think he already considers eventually hooking up with her a fait accompli, so he doesn't think he even needs to do anything. He just thinks fate will naturally make it happen.

You could make a lot of hay out of that, and I fully expect the Foglios to do so.

Ah, misunderstood. Though to be fair, Seffie might think that Tweedle is trying to impress Agatha (at the very least, she almost certainly thinks he should be trying to).

[up]No, as far as we know, Mr. Obsidian works for Grandmother, not The Queen of the Dawn, and he's the one who appears behind Tarvek right before the latter disappears.

"It's a big tab." [lol]

The sticky point is Obsidian didn't have a physical hold on the highly trained Tarvek last we saw, and this time he has plenty of running room. So while the bulk of the graph is he's still in Grandma's clutches, there's this bit off to the side that he might not be.

If I were Steffie, I would limit Tweedle to "need to know" even if the family wasn't so backstabby.

If Tweedle's thinking is he's going to wed the Heterodyne Princess because reasons and he doesn't have to put any work into actually courting her, that's both entirely in character and profoundly stupid. Agatha has no male/older relatives (alive that we know of) to try and dictate what her marriage arrangements should be. Tick her off, and she can kick you right back down that glass mountain.

(I just read the fairy tale The Glass Mountain. Again. tongue Appropriate metaphor in some cases.)

[up][up] If I don't recall wrong Tweedle is perhaps ironically as step down since at least Johnny Bravo would eventually do a few things to try to make the ladies be happy (recalling the episode with the spy where he actually did pull his weight despite everything).

Gotta love the change that Hoffman is still around and enjoying the new arrangements. So no new apprentice for Othar.

Aldin is trying to at least make up for the other shady act but considering the advice it is going to make some very convincing recall onto what is coming... How many pages before we get to a few of the expected jokes of the vast bureaucracy types?

Awww, Aldin's so sweet.

I'm half embarrassed and half amused at that panel where they're talking about how much Hoffman just loves his new eyes.

Is something supposed to be happening with Agatha's glasses? In the first panel she has them, then in panels two and three they're gone, then in panel four she's holding them in her hand.

Most likely the relief caused her to take them off, then clean them. An idiosyncracy that isn't uncommon for people that wear glasses because the sensation of taking the glasses off becomes associated with relief.

[up] well, as one who wears glasses, I can attest that wiping your forehead on your sleeve while wearing them, tends either to smudge them, or push them against a grimy, sweaty face.

Hoffman's face: "These Pipes Are Clean!"

Also, speaking of people who were there and are now ... not... Where's Prende?

Part of it's worry about Agatha, I think. I doubt she'll die, since Tweedle needs her alive, but she reeeaaaallllllyyy doesn't need the image of the bed-ridden sickly princess right now.

Also, a whole lot of weasels seem to have gotten lost in the past 2 1/2 years.

I hope there's some lab supplies in all that luggage. Although the Paris clothing means she'll make a smashing presentation at court. (It's got to be top of the line and the latest.) tongue

And another part is that perhaps it is a fan game onto "spot the weasel".

Also gotta love when fridge logic starts kicking in, when in the can. Just figured out the why Agatha didn't slug Tweedle: It would make more problems in the long run, and that he is built like a wall so it is a situation where avoiding more problems is implemented. Gotta give credits to the Clays to actually pull it off (the upbringing where Agatha can just figure stuff out before the most satisfying short order option causing long term messes).

I'd ask what happened to Old Man Death's former hat, but Maxim is probably just saving it for wear in the field.

Also, I always assume that, when the weasel isn't immediately visible, that it's hiding under Agatha's dress. You never know when you're going to need a surprise weasel.

@50348 The fun part of a surprise weasel is that it doesn't necessarily have to be shown to be effective.

@50349 At first, I thought you were talking about hiding the hat Maxim won from Old Man Death in a Victoria's Secret Compartment, and I had a ton of questions about that.
