Yup, that genuinely was a surprise. On a different subject, note that Dimo's giving that miniature hive-engine a worried look.

More than a worried look. He's about to take possession. Maybe he'll just smash it. And who are those guys, anyway, a expeditionary force from the library?

Don't the Jaegar's consider normal wasps a snack? Maybe it's Dimo's equivalent of popcorn.

My money's on the Librarians.

They've got large cats with them, so yeah, probably.

The big hairy one is wearing a badge with a book logo on it.

Edit: Going back to the library pages to check, not only do they wear that badge, so did Aldin before his sudden costume shift.

Looks like the Library wasn't as conquered or occupied as Daddy thought . . .

I think, regardless of what Dimo's feelings are, that he's showing why he got the brevet rank - he's already got his eye on the next potential problem before it develops.

About cruel and unusual punishments... facing a series of boards of inquiry is certainly one.

Boards get picky about a couple years' worth of mis-applied funds. I could almost feel sorry for the professor/king.

Almost.

It seems to me that Agatha's body has changed. If you compare her in the harem outfit in the link graciously provided by the Polarbot, and compare that to her here. you'll see that she started out more statuesque, more "hard body" looking, while nowadays she's looking more rounded, more "Rubinesque". Which is curious, since back then she was a presumably non-athletic, semi-sedentary student, while today she has been through several months of adventures in the field (not to mention Zeetha's "Princess Training").

Just an observation. It's important to keep track of the artwork.

She presumably got a lot of exercise helping with the cart business, as well as running because she was late.

It's more likely that Phil just felt like drawing her differently. Characters often change appearance either for story effects or to show particular emotions. Here, Agatha is distracted and looking around with interest, with Moloch there she's tense and upset. So relaxed pose vs. tense pose.
