Is it just me or does the king's robe resemble a manhole cover? Which would kinda work thematically actually.
Okay, one missing smoke knight who of course didn't get captured that easily. And a missing scene where the Princess probably said, "Please let's go along with it for now and maybe I can talk some sense into him! He is my father, after all." But since that obviously didn't work, it will be interesting to see how mostly naked people with no weapons can kick butt.
You know, it's been a while since we've gotten anything "OF DOOM!" in the comic. I feel like an itch was scratched.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Three missing Smoke Knights.
Madwa works for the Other, just like the King. She has absolutely no reason to attack him.

Well, if we want to really be specific, four missing Smoke Knights. We happen to think that the fourth is an enemy, but this would hardly be the first Enemy Mine situation to develop in the comic.
Oh, and while we're at it, there's a Muse or two and ol' Andronicus running around, too. They might not attempt a rescue, but them just passing through to get to somewhere else could throw all sorts of monkey wrench into things.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. It may have already been said, but I bet The Geister of the Opera is Larana's mom - Larana inherited her height from Cheyenne, and her hair and skin and pale skin from the Geister. Also the two seem pretty chummy. I don't know who she got her personality from though.
That would mean that Geister can procreate, which could be an interesting proposition...
DoodlesDo we have any reason to think they can't?
I'm still sticking to the theory that Zeetha's people are pseudo-geisters (are geister derived from them? are they derived from geister, after losing contact with The Lady? Are they just both on the same planet?), that is, she also comes from a weird world, connected to these big portals, with priestesses and a female-dominated society, and Zeetha's people can definitely procreate.
Just because we've only seen female Geisters doesn't mean males don't exist. Perhaps they are smaller and get ritually eaten after mating.
Maybe there's a really odd male to female ratio (like 1 to 9) and the males never ever get to go out to play because they're too valuable.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettMaybe they just have very little sexual dimorphism.
Maybe they preferentially mate with fans of online comics.
My own personal theory is that Geisters are some kind of construct with an inbuilt cult-worship history that insures loyalty to their creator. So No I wasn't thinking that mating particularly played into that. I kind of saw them as female counterparts to Jager until Gkika showed up.
And yep! I know that I am waaaay out of line with current accepted theories.

DoodlesWe know zeetha's people have sex and reproduce, and we suspect the geisters to be related in some way so most likely they do too.
The second novel made it very clear that the Geister society has multiple levels of classes and types of professions. That kind of thing is hard to sustain without either reproduction or immortality.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettThe second novel also explicitly mentioned they have children.

Yay for Larana standing up and not letting herself get interrupted and spoken for!
I love how happy Zeetha is with this development.
She's just like "FINALLY!" It's excellent.
It's important for parents to get involved in these things
Well and I was thinking that the grubby grubs was meaning as a call Albert Malich's Cooking; that Porridge eats spoons.
