What the fuck is with not-Patrick's face in that second to last panel?

Heh. Nice fake-out, Chris. Also, lantern-jaw doc is so hideously deformed that his head looks like it's going to swivel right off his neck.

For the love of god, please don't make him look like Chuck Goodrich. All I want is for Doc to look like a normal guy but with a Mustache of Authority like his daddy.

If he had one, it'd be outside his mask, because why have it otherwise?

Hiding a secret ace. His dad had it under until Frans ripped his mask during their fight.

Just seems weird to introduce it as a plot point now, at the end. There might be an And the Adventure Continues, but otherwise we're supposed to be concluding the story, not dangling sequel hooks.

I'm sort of anticipating And the Adventure Continues on the grounds that I'm not yet convinced "Stephen West" isn't Doc's new identity, and that buzzcut in the last panel looks suspiciously like the back of a Chuck's head.

We're all Chuck-crazy. It would be the least plot-satisfying Untwist ever is what I'm saying.

Oh, I agree, Doc being a Chuck would be stupid. My theory is that lantern-jaw is Doc and that's a new Chuck moving in, ready to take some action or another to prevent the apocalypse.

I think even Doc himself would be disappointed if Doc's identity was revealed as a Chuck.

Y'know, Doc could take the surname Goodrich as a civillian name. Like, this Doc asks him "who're you?" "Uh, I'm, hm... Jonesy... Jonesy Goodrich."

Unlikely, because then it'd be kinda obvious for anyone who knew him in the slightest.

I think he took the name Goodrich out of nostalgia.

I know this chapter was called the end, but it just hit me that this is it. The end.

Now I'm sad.

The strangest things strike you when you read old strips. Like that kid being in a car seat in the front seat. That's a serious safety violation.

So he isn't Chuck, but maybe an ancestor?

Wow. It's sad to finally be here. Been reading this since mid-"Death Volley".

It does seem like it's fairly easy for his family to track him down though.

Also, don't forget there's usually Doc's final thoughts after a story ends, so we might see his face.
