Yeah, I've got no idea what any of you are talking about.
Likes many underrated webcomicsVandal Savage is a DC Comics supervillain. He's literally a caveman who gained immortality and superintelligence from a meteor.
And Hob Gadling is a dude who literally just didn't die. Because Death had a bet with her brother. No meteor radiation needed. Though there were copious amounts of loneliness involved, if you'd believe a trite thing like that.
The baby bat/ Screamed out in fright,/ 'Turn on the dark,/ I'm afraid of the light.'She really was this "Lady Elizabeth", and she stopped aging at thirty or whatever.
i guess the song makes more sense about a high class hooker, but w/e, i'm sticking with my story.

Because everybody loves robots espcially in the past.
Damnit.

Everyone hates ninjas, though. It's a lonely life I 'literatively lead.
,: Hahahahaha.
Anyway, so it seems that the name thing isn't some sort of necessity? Or...something, TBH I'm kind of confused about it.
Jones is pretty in many different eras of fashion.
The baby bat/ Screamed out in fright,/ 'Turn on the dark,/ I'm afraid of the light.'Jonesey's dress. It pinks.
Obviously there's some sort of magic involved in Jonesey taking people's names. Mais quoi?

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! She has to keep changing identities to keep people from becoming suspicious about the woman who doesn't age.
I just find it a bit odd that people want to give her names. She obviously meant something to these people (and they meant something to her), but what exactly that is isn't clear at the moment.
Would she take Eglamore's name if he asked?

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI'm not sure she would need to take Eglamore's name, nowadays, if the taking of names is associated with taking a new background and history.
ophelia, you're breaking my heartAgreed. She's in the Court, now. <shrugs> I'd guess they're rather better at dealing with far stranger things than her not ageing, so she probably wouldn't need a new name for hiding reasons as long as she stays there.
The estate is where the Court is now. Jones holds title to the land the Court is on.

Trump delenda estI like the cut of your jib, sir.
I'd have expected the Court to be significantly older than that. Even though it had robots. The timeline seems to imply that Gunnerkrigg Court takes place in the present day, but the woods had to be settled first, then the court founded. Then Diego had to have time to grow very old and die, which would probably be a good forty or fifty years after Jeanne did at the least. He looked old and she died fairly young. After that, enough time passes that records are lost and nobody really remembers what happened anymore. Finally, Surma shows up.

Nothing says Jones managed to keep hold of the land, mate. We've just seen that she did have a period where she slipped up.
I like the idea that one of Jones' previous "identities" provided the spot for the Court to start up (or whatever it is that the Seed of Bismuth did). It doesn't' have to be the C18th one with the pretty pink dress.

No, I mean, by this point the Court should already be around. The post made it sound like the Court will be built on this ground.
I'd also note that Jones swore to carry Edward's name for as long as she was able. I get the impression Jones wouldn't take a new name unless forced to.

The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books. And only if it was for the benefit of someone she really cared about (That seems to be the trend here).

If she was doing that, she would have ditched "Elizabeth" waay before the cops came knocking.
Nah, there are lot's of "Elizabeth"s, especially in England. So long as she changes her family name she could stay Elizabeth as long as she likes. And if she keeps private enough, she could just be a line of Mothers and Daughters for a few generations at least without even that.
