Okay, this is all well and good, BUT IF YOU MAKE PARLEY JEANNE'S REPLACEMENT I SWEAR-

Just like that
Meanwhile, Smitty's got a knife in his chest and is about to join them.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The other pdychopomps make sure Smitty doesn't die until he's treated, if they don't/can't save him outright, in respect and/or gratitude for crossing Jeanne.

“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.psychopomp rave woooooo
Are they going to fight over him or something?
Unlikely. He, along with the AnnieGumi just did the job they failed at and some of them died for. Gratitude isn't completely foreign to them, and I doubt they'd view grabbing his soul before absolutely necessary to be a good thing. If nothing else, they'd let Annie do it.

Avatar from here.Highly doubt so many would show up for one dude. Something else is going on.
I have a message from another time...Jeanne actually stabbed them all, they're just in denial. Psychopomps are there for them all.
Or, even better, they're after Robot! All of them gathered because they're not sure who's portfolio covers robots.

Robot's had his body melted down into paperclips before. His CPU should be fine.
I'm both more worried and less so about Smitty now. On the one hand, if he was really going to die, I don't think we'd have milked it this long. Then again, maybe that's the reversal of expectations. Although if the reveal is something like Smitty's heart being on the opposite side because his powers were prepared for exactly this moment, that would have interesting implications as well. To what extent is everything a function of the order Smitty creates?
and to that end, is smitty controlling his power, or is his power controlling him?

"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"A bargain or not
Well, they have a point. She sent Jeanne completely of her own volition. While they may be glad that she's finally gone, it's not like they wanted revenge for their fellow psychopomps or really needed her gone. They really do owe her nothing.
GaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHRrrrGHH
But it is such a dickish thing! I hope she somehow prevents Smitty's soul from leaving his body.
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️wrong thread sorry
