Oh hello, region blocking. It's so wonderful to see you again.

While I don't know much about card games, that'd probably be a really good idea. It'd force you to learn your own tells.

[up][up][up] Man, that's the most depressing lineup of any class in fiction. I had more faith in the future watching Saved by the Bell.

Kakashi summed up the whole class with his statement upon meeting Team 7. Bunch of idiots.

But seriously, the Rookies did get better in Shippuden. I'll give Part 2 that much.

Hi guys. I finally decided to register here too, after having occasionally bumped into tvtropes over many-many years now. And the major reason for this? Well, I just really wanted to EDIT Hinata's "Fist of the Beast King" by pointing out how SERIOUS that comparison is. No, I mean it VERY seriously - just check the LINK in the Note I added to Hinata in Naruto. (Stupid "new user external linking limitations", but whatever.)

You don't need external linking permission for that. Just use FanNickname/{{Naruto}}. Like so: Naruto

Thanks, but I originally wanted to use direct youtube linking to begin with. The whole point was in the video, which I wanted to share directly, not wait forever until someone sees it through a miracle. Cause, admit it, almost nobody checks minute edits OR what's in History of the page. And I myself would definitely miss an addition like a single small Note in the middle of the page.

The escape clause doesn't work on You Tube videos. Huh. Anyway, use the You Tube markup next time. Click the "Show Markup Help" button when posting to see it.

The two are surprisingly similar but the pretty big difference is that Digimon Tamers is really freaking awesome while Naruto, while really cool at times (this being one of them) isn't.

Also, the effects of Leomon's death are felt throughout the entire rest of the series, all the way up to the final episode. Meanwhile, the effect of everything Hinata did there is completely ignored even in The Last.

Well,

doesn't work for me, as you can see (and I saw in Preview already when posting the first post).

Anyways, on-topic. My whole point was to add more to Fan Nicknaming, not to only compare Hinata to Leomon. And like you agree upon, the SCENE (or more like the whole mini-arc) is surprisingly similar both visually and contextually. Like, some moments are basically clones, when put side-to-side. There's another such "similar scene" moment with Hinata Kuusho-ing the Juubi's hand being similar to Silphymon's birth (and you can see it on my youtube account, which I won't be able to link until dunno-when).

I liked it. Bort's still a pretty cool guy, and Salad-chan a cute. Naruto himself is so awkward though, Hokage job is sucking the life out of him.

To be fair One Piece is the golden goose. Naruto is more the the Silver goose.

Recently? A brief flashback showing the current arc villain's hilariously dark backstory of apparently eating alive everyone else at the orphanage she lived in without knowing it during her birthday party and that the kind and loving women who ran it was actually a notorious slaver planning to sell her to the Marines because of her insane strength.

It's more about the journey than the treasure.

They're currently fighting Big Mom, who owns one of the Road Ponegliphs needed to find the final island, where the One Piece Treasure is. Apparently, Roger was the only person to reach said island, at the end of the Grand Line.

I was just going to say that. There are 4 Road Poneglyphs, The Straw Hats have one, and the emperors Big Mom and Kaido have one each. There IS progression.

Can anyone tell me/link me to Naruto's broken aesops?

The big ones are the "Defying my destiny as a loser" message from the Neji fight and the general "Hard work overcomes talent" aesop, which were broken by the revelation that Naruto has godlike genes and is the heir of a destined legacy, whereas the hard workers who genuinely don't have family or talent like Lee always lose. Or how it talked about younger generations surpassing the older but still made the older generations seem much more impressive. Or how seeking revenge is wrong unless you're Shikamaru.

I mean, Shikamaru is also largely justified since he never left the villain to train with a monster in order to kill a serial killer, and just went with the last part with his team and Kakashi; Ino and Chouji were also going along to avenge Asuma, but you don't see them get shat on because of this because Shikamaru's the one who actually disabled him, so of course he's going to be held in contempt by the fandom for supposedly breaking an aesop.
