- Awesome Music: The opinion on the live-action drama varies from fan to fan; but what they all agree on is that it has a great soundtrack. The opening song alone is proof of that.
- Cant Unhear It: Anyone who's watched the drama before or after they've read the novel will no longer be able to imagine Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan's appearances without thinking of the actors that played them in the drama.
- Fashion-Victim Villain: Admit it, you didn't watch the drama without making fun of Zhu Jiu's hair at least once. Even worse was that he had a much more presentable hairstyle in the past.
- Just Here for Godzilla: Most of the fans admit that the live-action drama is far from solid adaptation of the novel, but they all agree that the lead actors (Bai Yu and Zhu Yilong) are what made the drama is a success in the first place due to their performances doing their characters as much justice as they can get. Even Priest herself agrees that the actors did the main characters justice in spite of the massive changes to the script.
- Special Effects Failure: Despite being advertised as a sci-fi series, it's just pretty obvious that the production crew didn't have a good budget when it came to filming the scenes involving magic and supernatural creatures. To be fair, there were cases of bankruptcy and Executive Meddling behind-the-scenes.
