• Angst Aversion: The fanfic focuses on a lot of tearjerker subjects (suicidal thoughts and Death Seeker tendencies in its protagonist, followed by Bakugo's epiphany towards it) and buries its face in it for long periods, which can seriously affect one's willingness to read it for some.
• Fan Nickname: In fan spaces Viridian's version of Izuku is commonly called "Kazooku," a portmanteau of "Izuku" and "Kazoo," poking fun at All For One's petulant comparisons of Izuku to said instrument.
• Funny Moments: At USJ, Bakugo sees two of his friends from Amplifier's course among Shigaraki's mooks... And gives them an utterly hilarious tongue-lashing that includes this gem about Shigaraki:
  “Take one look at that guy and tell me that he’s not bitch-ass broke and living in his parent’s basement! He isn’t intending to pay you because you’re all gonna get caught!”
  • Everyone's reactions. Especially when Bakugou talks one third of them into leaving and Shigaraki takes a few moments before trying to off Bakugou for it.
  • During a talk with Dabi, Bakugo times the reveal he knows he's Touya Todoroki with Dabi taking a drink. It works perfectly.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The Dramatic Irony surrounding Izuku's and Denki's talk about the questionable safety of One For All, and Izuku using All Might's medical data to argue that Izuku himself is less suited to One For All than Denki, became even more ironic and tragic after canon's revelation that One For All kills holders that have preexisting Quirks. That detail was subsequently declared not true for this fic, but still adds layers of unintended context to the scene for readers who encounter it after learning this canon detail of the Quirk.
• Moral Event Horizon:
  • The cherry on Izuku's misery sundae goes to when a group of kids on a whim decide to beat Izuku up - leaving him covered in bruises and a broken arm - and the principal decides that all of the blame should fall to Izuku for "instigating the fight", completely overlooking his broken arm and suspending him for two weeks. Inko is so horrified by just how negligent the school is being that she pulls Izuku out of school. Even Bakugou sees how much of a miscarriage of justice this is.
  • Endeavor goes flying past it when he attacks Izuku in a clear attempt to kill him, even though there are still civilians nearby and they are in a bar with alcohol spread all around.
