- Memetic Psychopath: Some jokingly call the bird evil because it smiles right before the bear falls in the ice, likely because of an animation error, with its chirps right afterwards being happiness over the bear being in danger and angry face afterwards being disappointment that he was saved.
- Nightmare Fuel: Many Finns have reported being scared of this film as children, often because of the scene where the bear is helplessly trying to get out of the hole in the ice. The ending, where the bear says the name of the short, is often also called unsettling.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: Officially, the kid who saves the bear is a boy named Heikki, but many viewers mistake him for a girl.
