• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: A lot of the Funny Background Event characters count as this, such as a middle-eastern guy riding on a camel in front of a supermarket, or the Mexican worker with a sombrero, a poncho, and a ponytail, among many others.
• Designated Hero: Hinako, the boss of a gang of delinquents who have murdered previous teachers. In-universe she's apparently viewed as some kind of "protector" by the other students, though why they've needed protection from before Ganpachi is up in the air.
