• Fan-Disliked Explanation: Many fans reacted poorly to The Reveal about the Thirteenth Prime. The revelation that the Thirteenth was Optimus Prime remains contentious at best, with its detractors arguing that Optimus secretly being divine undermines all his accomplishments and retroactively makes his entire story about him having a preordained destiny, rather than his own merits as a leader.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Megatronus is depicted as a Tragic Hero who accidentally killed Solus Prime and willingly exiles himself from Cybertron taking on his familiar mask in the process. In Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015), Megatronus is a straight-up villain who willfully killed Solus and seeks revenge on Earth for a currently unknown reason.
