* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: Despite the toyline being made for ''toddlers'', the show itself has a surprising amount of dark imagery that leans very much into RealismInducedHorror. Dr. Morocco's hidden camera tactic is a particular contenter, as many Air BNB guests can tell you.

* JustEatGilligan: A lot of problems caused by Mayor Luskey and Huxley Prescott would be prevented if the town were to impeach/vote out/recall the former and arrest the both of them on some of the crap they've pulled. [[spoiler: The Season 4 episode does have Luskey voted out and replaced by Chase, [[StatusQuoisGod only for Chase's tenure to be a disaster and Luskey resume the post.]]]]

** In "Return of the Dino Bot," there's a throwaway line about Cody and Graham asking Chief Burns for a pet dinosaur. Come later seasons, and Graham's very own bot, as well as the rest of the team, get dinosaur forms.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: In "Small Blessings," after they rescue Hayley, Dani tells Kade to remove Hayley's Minivan which has fallen and blocked the Dam, and Kade blows her off saying he'll do it later as he's got a date. While Kade is being an irresponsible muscle head (having endangered both himself, Heatwave and Hayley all to impress her), Dani herself doesn't bother to remove the blockage with Blades, and seems content to leave the hazardous debris there for Kade to deal with "later."

* WhatAnIdiot:
** Some of the things Blurr does are ''really stupid''.
** At least half the stuff the mayor does counts as well.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: "The Last of Morocco" brought a few interpretations on the titular Doctor involving his relationship with Jules Verne. He admitted that his chamber of youth was stolen (and did so only to himself, when he thought no one was listening), but in this episode we learn that the key component was a gift from Verne, and Morocco himself engineered the chamber. Did he really value his friendship with Verne? Was he just a narcissist who only pretended to befriend him to get Verne's technology? Or, as Verne believes, was he once a good man whose greed and ambition drove him to the dark side? Was his statement of theft just him being in denial that he once trusted someone who showed kindness to him?

* HarsherInHindsight: The episode "Tip of the Iceberg"contained what happened to be a heartwarming moment when Dr. Morocco handed the Burns family a painting of Chief Burns's grandfather. [[spoiler: "Changes" revealed that he didn't do it out of any kindness, but as a way to sneak in a spy camera so he could spy on the family and the Rescue Bots.]]

** In "Deep Trouble", Blades tries to throw the [[spoiler: self-destructing]] shark far into the ocean and at first it seems he died, but it turns out he survived. The same thing happens in Film/TheDarkKnightRises complete with Batman throwing a bomb far into the ocean and [[spoiler: looking like he died but [[FakingtheDead he survived too.]] ]] Even funnier is that this episode aired two months before the movie was released.

* TooDumbToLive: For an island of so-called geniuses they veer into this territory a bit too often.
** The king of this trope is probably [[MayorPain Mayor Luskey]]. A lot of problems in Griffin Rock stem from his ego, blame-shifting, and total ineptitude at pretty much everything he does. He's at his worst in "The Vigilant Town", where his demands that an experimental computer meant to protect the town be turned on full power, even after it demonstrates that it's willing to violate civil liberties to perform its function.
** Even keeping in mind that these are simplified stories to be told in 20 minutes, how could the Bots or the Burnses not have any security at all guarding the Autobot section of the rescue bay?

* TheScrappy: Some might find Blades to be this; the type of humor that makes up most of his character can wear on the viewer's nerves, especially as overused as it is.

* BrokenBase: The ending of "The Last of Morocco" wherein [[spoiler:Dr. Morocco has his mind wiped, and he's sent to the future to be given a second chance at life]]. One group feels it's a full on KarmaHoudini as in the end Morocco's lifetime of crimes concludes with him rewarded rather than punished. Others sympathize with the decision as [[spoiler:with his mind in tact]] the good doctor is far too dangerous to keep around, and such an arrangement will also help benefit society as his talents will be put to more heroic purposes. A third group feels that [[spoiler:forcing the mind wipe against his wishes]] has its own set of [[FridgeHorror disturbing implications]] that the show glances over.

* EarWorm: "Living in a Land of Tech" is cheesy but very catchy.

* CounterpartComparison: The show bears quite a few similarities to ''Series/{{Eureka}}'' in that it takes place in a town designed to foster scientific advancement and features technology years ahead of its time, and the focus is on a team of public servants who frequently have to solve problems caused by malfunctioning technology. In addition, Doc Greene bears more than a passing resemblance to Eureka's chief scientist, Henry Deacon.

** "Mayor May Not" features Chase competing with Mayor Luskey in a debate for mayor of Griffin Rock. Luskey ultimately crashes and burns in the debate, losing his temper frequently and proves to know little on how to answer the moderator's questions; meanwhile, his opponent is calm and collected and is simply bemused by Luskey's meltdown. This ended up being the exact same way the first presidential debate of 2016 went between Creator/DonaldTrump (Luskey) and UsefulNotes/HillaryClinton, which took place a few months after the episode aired. It got even weirder when despite this poor performance in the debate, Trump became president, much like how Luskey ultimately returned to his position as mayor (albeit after Chase had a brief, unsuccessful stint as mayor).
