• Take That, Scrappy!: The "Pahkitew Island" cast as a whole is considered to be the worst generation of Total Drama contestants due to being very unrealistic and zany compared to the previous generations. The author takes a jab at them in a similar fashion to how Total Drama All-Stars Rewrite did.
  Heather: "Wow, Chris! Is this really the best you could come up with? I've seen losers before, but these guys take the cake! I mean, talk about bottom of the barrel! Did you find them off the side of the road or something?"
  Chris: "Technically, they were accepted into the season when Chef accidentally knocked their audition tapes into the acceptance machine."
  Heather and Dave: "Well, that explains a lot."
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The finale has Gwen and Duncan interacting for the first time since their breakup (and the latter's arrest) in All Stars. Rather than the two of them getting any closure, their appearance is simply a glorified cameo.
