• Casual-Competitive Conflict: Magic tournaments often break down along these lines- either games between friends or a cut-throat tournament on Friday Nights. As the Professor points out, the real way to play is to just have fun.
• Values Resonance: There was controversy in the Magic community over online bullying and harassment of women and minorities within Magic's playerbase in late 2017. The Professor has come down firmly against such harassment, and on the side of opening Magic up to all sorts of new players- women, LGBT individuals, individuals with a limited income, and more.
