  • Anvilicious: Some episodes, at least early in the show's run, stop the plot entirely to give a science lecture that's vaguely related to what the characters were doing beforehand. This is a straightforward way of delivering the lesson, but many feel that it's too heavy-handed.
  • Archive Panic: The "3000" in the show's title actually makes sense when you take into account that the series spans 3000+ episodes. Needless to say, it's probably going to take you a while to binge-watch the entire series. Luckily, the entire series is available for free on Youku, even if you live outside of China.
  • Broken Base:
    • People are divided on this show's animation style. Some people say the 3D animation is rough and the 2D animation is too simple, while other people think the art is charming and interesting.
    • Parents are divided on whether or not this is a good show for kids. Some parents like the educational value in the show, while other parents think the content is too confusing for young children.
  • Funny Moments: The official 3000 Whys of Blue Cat YouTube channel has a description mentioning the things that the series teaches. One of them is, and we hereby quote, "boring education and entertainment". That's almost certainly a translation error, but that doesn't make the idea of a show touting its education as "boring" any less funny.
