  • A common complaint amongst detractors is that the story feels like it falls into this rather than the Genre Deconstruction the author seems to have intended. This is most attributed to many feeling that the story heavily exaggerating events that occur in other Otome Isekai to the point of strawmanning.
    • One such commonly cited example of this is the starting premise itself: the maid being slapped by the Main Character/Villainess. As many have pointed out Otome Isekai that have done this, such as Villains Are Destined to Die, involve said maids having gotten away with abusing or mistreating the protagonist for a very long time beforehand due to the neglect or poor standing they face by their family in their own household. This moment in Otome Isekai is used to establish the MC finally standing up for themselves against an abusive caretaker. A far cry from Bridgette being slapped over lukewarm eggs or to assert superiority.
