- Accidental Innuendo: In "Look At All Those Idiots", Mr. Burns says "Ooh, look at all those boobs!" He means "boobs" in the sense of it being another term for "stupid people", but the term is more commonly known these days as a slang term for a woman's breasts.
- Critical Dissonance: Critics then and now hated the album. Fans, however, love it.
- Older Than They Think: The "epilogue" of "Deep, Deep Trouble" takes the details of Bart's Traumatic Haircut straight from one of the Tracey Ullman Show shorts, and the video redoes some of its animation. In the original short, the haircut wasn't a punishment but a reaction to Bart having grown his hair too long for his parents' tastes, which is why Bart suddenly has an extra thatch of hair once he gets into the barber shop in the "Deep, Deep Trouble" video.
- Sweetness Aversion: For some listeners, Marge and Homer's song "I Love to See You Smile" might come across as a bit sappy.
