• Alternative Joke Interpretation: When Abe greets Homer as "Cornelius", is he being his usual senile self or going along with Homer's ruse? The look on his face suggests it could be the latter.
• Harsher in Hindsight: When Apu's mother catches Homer and Marge in bed, Apu tries to keep the charade going by pretending to catch Marge red handed. This becomes less funny after "The Sweetest Apu" where he really does have an affair, and he and Manjula are almost driven apart as a result.
