YMMV / The Simpsons S18 E3 "Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em"

• Alternate Character Interpretation: A few local women tease Marge as she's buying supplies for being Homer's "little helper." The way they cackle in her face suggests they don't genuinely believe the sexist stuff they're saying, so it's unclear just what they're teasing Marge about. It's possible they're mocking Marge for previously trying to be a carpenter on her own, but this isn't made clear.
• Unintentionally Sympathetic: While Marge has every right to be upset with not getting the credit and dealing with the sexist townfolk, her anger was misdirected towards Homer. Having him serve as the face of her repairs was her idea. Homer was the one helping her get jobs in the first place and was apologetic about it through the whole ordeal. Marge is technically the one who put Homer in the awkward position of fixing the roller coaster in the first place, refused to help, and took pleasure in him getting humiliated at the unveiling. It doesn't help that Lisa keeps blaming his male ego when he was technically the only man in town who supported Marge.
