  • Complete Monster: Issue #52—"Cluracan's Tale": Mairon is the Carnifex Carys of Aurelia and the Psychopomp of the entire land, having manipulated his way into gaining total physical and spiritual control over the kingdom by murdering the true heir. Oppressing the people of Aurelia with brutal taxes and starvation while trying to expand this tyranny to other lands, Mairon indulges in any depraved debauchery he likes, implied to casually bed young boys and girls at his leisure. Mairon regularly executes anyone who crosses him, enjoying personally gouging their eyes out and pissing in the sockets, and he uses the threat of damning them after death to further terrorize them. When Cluracan causes a minor rebellion against Mairon's rule, Mairon intends to respond by murdering 10% of Aurelia's population and condemn their souls to Hell for eternity, completely defiling the religious powers he is meant to use for good.
  • Common Knowledge: It's thought by many people, including the DC Wiki and Lewis Lovhaug, that the arc was a tie-in into Zero Hour: Crisis in Time! — expect, as as pointed out by the "Hey, Kids, Comics" wiki, "World's End" was published in 1993 — a full year before Zero Hour (1994). It's more likely that the reality storm that caused the events of was solely caused by the attacks on the Dreaming and the death of Morpheus by the titular villains of "The Kindly Ones", especially given Destiny outright said the actions would cause a reality storm and "World's End" included an early glimpse of Morpheus's funeral.
