• Alternative Character Interpretation:
  • If Doctor Wong's belief that the infected are fully concious and aware of the atrocities they're causing is true than it opens up a number of possibilities for the motives of any of the individual infected.
  • Is Infected Jim's especially cruel taunts towards Kat a twisted attempt to show that he still loves her that is being ruined by his infection or are they just the infection using Jim to cause her as much emotional pain to Kat as possible?
  • The Businessman is shown to be quite loathesome from his introduction when he openly disregards Kat's boundaries and insults her when she tells him off but we're ultimately left wondering how far he would have taken things if he hadn't been infected. Whether he's just an Entitled to Have You creep or a Stalker with a Crush is up to interpretation.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The scene when Jim manages to get home after the outbreak starts and flicks through television channels, which all feature a static "civil emergency announcement" image except for a bizarre sexually-explicit cartoon (itself a previous work by Rob Jabbaz). Jim seems confused by the cartoon and the plot quickly forces him to forget it, and with the complete lack of explanation it seems to just have been included for creepy surrealism.
• Spiritual Adaptation: The film is heavily inspired by the horror comic Crossed and many whom have read or have heard about the comic have christened it to be a foreign remake/film adaptation of it.
