• Alternate Character Interpretation: Did Robert simply change course and fire Todd instead of Dwight when he took the latter's place as VP, or was it always Robert's intention that Jim would realize the meaning of his words and stop Dwight, an excellent salesman who Robert admires and would be questionable in firing, from attending the meeting and letting Todd, a much more expendable employee, take the fall instead? It might even go as far as to explain why Robert specifically requested Jim to come to Florida in the first place.
