• Hilarious in Hindsight: Michael says he has a rule against office romances, but he'll go on to have relationships with his immediate corporate superior Jan and branch HR rep Holly. He also never seems to have the slightest problem with the torrent of intra-office relationships (and Love Triangles) that happen under his watch, even acting as Shipper on Deck for some of them.
• Retroactive Recognition: Amy Adams makes her first of several appearances as Katy, a few months before her breakthrough role in Junebug.
• Unintentional Period Piece: Toby recognizes Katy's class ring from his alma mater, Bishop O'Hara High School. It was a Real Life Scranton-area high school at the time, but in 2007 it merged with another area Catholic school (Bishop Hannan) and became Holy Cross High School.
