• Tear Jerker:
  • The film opens with Felix feeling so despondent, he actually contemplates suicide.
  • After Felix goes missing, Oscar and the other poker player buddies worry for him. They end up looking for him all over town. Fortunately, he's later found alive and well.
• Values Dissonance: The scene with Oscar hitting on a waitress at one point, even going so far as play-biting her side. Innocuous in the '60s, not so much nowadays.
