  • In the second act, Adrian and Lee are young, geeky, cheerful teenagers who want nothing other than Elysium and each other.
  • Also the Mascot 3000, who has the soul of a young child that loves pulpy sci-fi and wants to go on adventures with their family.
• Fridge Brilliance: The confusion over the idea that Rachel could be Adrian's reincarnation despite being female. The author revealed that Adrian is a transgender man, so he was born with a biological female body so anyone who knew that detail about him could've believed he came back as a female, but Elysium turned out to be supernaturally validating of his preferred gender.
• Fridge Horror: For all we know, Connor spent the rest of his life waiting for Lee's consciousness. To add salt to the wound, he's the real reincarnation of Adrian, so he's now taken the role Lee used to have while in Elysium.
• Viewer Gender Confusion: Adrian is male, despite having a female voice actor. Word of God confirms this is because Adrian is transgender.
• The Woobie: Connor. The only thing he really does wrong in the album is shutting down the Elysian portal after the voodoopunks have gone through, but considering that they had claimed to have his beloved son under their spell to extort him into letting it open in the first place, this action is at least understandable. After finding out that he had inadvertently trapped Lee on the other side, he spends the next twenty years working on a way to bring them all back. In the end, though, Lee is killed right before he can return to the world of the living in AI form, and Racheal and Mascot 3000 end up deciding to explore Elysium together, leaving Connor waiting for his son to return with no way of knowing exactly what happened on the other side.
