- Popular with Furries: Since the main character and villain are an anthropormophic monkey and a dragon respectively, this is to be expected. The villain of the movie, the Dragon King, notably has a sizeable fanbase, thanks to him being a Broadway-style showman-character, with a lot of "queer-coding" to him (obsession about style and fashion, sassy dialogue, makeup wearing), and who becomes in the climax an overweight-looking, giant version of himself.
