YMMV / The Mandalorian S3E8 "Chapter 24: The Return"

Go To

  • He's Just Hiding: overlaps with Ambiguous Clone Ending, due to how it was shown earlier that Moff Gideons' Force-Sensitive Clones had managed to gain sapience within their tanks and that Gideon had in the past went through several iterations of Cloning techniques before making the leap to Force-Sensitive Clones with Grogu's DNA; it is unknown if the Moff Gideon that Din and Bo-Katan are fighting is the actual Moff Gideon or just one of the Non Force-Sensitive Clones of him.
  • It's Short, So It Sucks!: This episode runs only 41 minutes including credits, even though the finales for the first two seasons and The Book of Boba Fett ran from 47 to 61. Consequently, some viewers find it rushed in certain spots; for instance, it doesn't show how Grogu separated from Bo-Katan's party to find Din.
  • Older Than They Think: The Armorer previously used a jetpack, non-canonically, in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
  • Special Effects Failure:
    • As shocking as the destruction of the Darksaber is, the damage to the prop and the telling clicks it makes as it hits the floor show it is plastic rather than the Beskar steel Din described it as being.
    • For such a massive explosion that destroys Gideon and the base, the platform that he and the trio of heroes were standing on is remarkably pristine afterward.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Among fans, "Din Grogu" ended up becoming the least popular of the Child's canon aliases, mainly because it implies that they spent years mixing up Din Djarin's first name and surname. (Stubborn fans still do so, intentionally.)
