  • Alfred Pendlebury is played by Stanley Holloway, who would later be best known for playing Alfred P. Doolittle in My Fair Lady.
  • A young Audrey Hepburn has a small part. She was actually supposed to have a bigger role, but her schedule prevented it.
  • Robert Shaw made his film debut as a chemist at the police exhibition. However, most of his performance ended up on the cutting room floor.
  • Shorty Fisher is played by Alfie Bass, who would later be best known for playing Private "Excused Boots" Bisley in The Army Game.
