The film

• Awesome Music: Boccherini's Minuet ^note  from String Quintet in E Major, Op. 11, No. 5 , which plays throughout the film.
• Crosses the Line Twice: A group of criminals plot to kill an old woman? Not funny. A group of criminals fail miserably at killing an old woman, and end up killing each other? Funny!
• Nightmare Fuel: Professor Marcus at the end of the film when he snaps after Louis calls him crazy.
  Professor Marcus: You mustn't say things like that Louis because I told you, YOU MUSTN'T MAKE ME ANGRY!
  • Earlier on in the film, Louis does the same thing, causing a close up of the back of Marcus' head as he slowly starts to turn round while a terrifying crescendo starts playing and the other members of the gang, who unlike Louis have worked with Marcus before and know never to do that, look on in horror. Fortunately, before Marcus turns round fully and presumably snaps, Mrs Wilberforce brings them tea.
• Retroactive Recognition: Frankie Howerd is the barrow boy and Kenneth Connor appears as a taxi driver. Both actors would co-star in Carry On Up the Jungle.
