- A society photographer in the final episode was played by Frank Williams, who would later be best known for playing The Vicar in Dad's Army.
- Special Effect Failure: The "giant" human effects were dodgy even by 1969's standards, as there were numerous imperfections visible onscreen.
- Values Dissonance: Big looks down on the Empire Gnomes, dismissing them as "plastic Chinese twits", while none of the Empire Gnomes were actually played by Chinese actors, but mostly white actors using broad, offensive accents.
