YMMV / The Flash 2014 S 3 E 14 Attack On Central City

Go To

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Harry's treatment of HR gets this from fans is he just being a jerk like he's known for or is he just being unnecessarily hateful and cruel?
  • Anti-Climax Boss: Grodd is dispatched fairly quickly by Solovar and the big Gorilla army doesn't get the opportunity to show much of their power, other than slapping away Wally and Jesse (Granted with Grodd it WAS stated last episode that Solovar was stronger then him since his plan relied on The Flash trying to beat him and Solovar openly punched him).
  • Narm: Many fans couldn't take the "No Killing" message seriously since in the past Team Flash has killed some of their enemies before and some simply weren't as much of a threat that Grodd is.
  • One-Scene Wonder: The Accelerated Man, the Flash of Earth-19, only makes a single appearance with one line in the episode, but he's one of the most talked-about thing in this episode.
  • Shocking Moments: Grodd vs Solovar, mainly because their fight is literally fast-paced with parkour involved.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
    • Part of Grodd's invasion involves kidnapping a military general and brainwashing him into firing nukes into Central City. Rather than General Eiling (an "old friend" of Grodd) they opted for an original character instead. Clancy Brown's lack of availability seems to have completely scuttled their plans for Eiling since Season 1.
    • The story's ambition runs smack into the show's budgetary limitations, with no gorilla action besides a very limited skirmish near the end of the episode.
