• Adorkable: In the donghua, once Wang Ling's seal withers out enough for his feelings to spill in the contest between No. 60 and No.59 High Schools, it's just full on smiley, awkward, blushy and just overall adorable Wang Ling in effect with his friends. After watching so much of him being held back from sporting facial expressions, it almost feels like a whole other character, but it comes off endearing because he's, well, happy. And we top off the cute with using Froggy as a hat.
• Awesome Music: In the donghua, Wang Ling has his own personal theme music, which plays whenever he is about to do something incredible. It is a glorious march with a pounding percussion section. It also signifies his ability to transcend realms, as it can even be heard In-Universe.
• Diagnosed by the Audience: With No Social Skills and a general lack of expressiveness, Wang Ling comes across as vaguely autistic to some.
• They Copied It, So It Sucks!: A common criticism is that the overall set-up and archetypes are reminiscent to those of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K..
