  • Base-Breaking Character: Kootra had a very hard time from the fans because of how he ended up running the Creatures as a business. Some believe that he did the best he could, but that the other Creatures simply weren't suited to a business arrangement. Others believe that Kootra's management went too far and that the decisions he made were not conducive to the survival of the Creatures, and that the blame for the fall of the Creatures lays solely at his feet.
  • Broken Base:
    • While the base had been been split before, it splintered and fractured heavily after several main members of the Creatures left before and right as The Creatures joined Rooster Teeth. Issues include but are not limited to: whether if The Creatures should have just stayed a group and not become a business, whether if several removals/vacancies of previous Creatures were worth it or not, and whether if Kootra could have done a better job at running the group or if he should have passed the torch as group leader to a different Creature.
    • Dex's inclusion in many videos prior to being brought into the group sparked harsh criticism from Critters who didn't like Dex's sense of humor and didn't know of his long history with the others. This ended up dying down after Dex left the group and then expounded on the matter: While he loved working with old friends, he was completely uncomfortable with the office format and had misgivings about Kootra's direction as a boss, leading to his awkwardness in videos. To put this into contrast, his collaborations with Cow Chop have been very warmly received.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • The video where The Creatures destroy Sly's tree and he jokes that he is going to join the Yogscast, is a lot less funny after Sly retired from The Creatures.
    • Looking back at older videos featuring Chilled and other former Creatures become sadder as Chilled's prediction of the business ruining The Creatures actually did happen.
    • The Road To E3 2015 series of videos, which is widely beloved by fans for simply showcasing the group having fun on a road trip, became a lot harder to watch after Dex revealed that he was absolutely miserable throughout the entire trip and was being forced to act like he was having fun when the camera was pointed at him.
  • Memetic Mutation: "The Face that Inspired a Generation", also known as "Aleks Face".
