• Accidental Aesop: With how Groundhawk is repeatedly Mistaken for Pedophile and ends up getting beaten to near death because of it, you could interpret this short as shining some light on how easily a Pædo Hunt can end up targeting innocent people and get out of hand.
• Jerkass Woobie: Groundhawk might be grumpy and foul-mouthed, but seeing how he has a literally Crippling Overspecialization and his job consists of being the heel and getting beaten black and blue on the regular, you can get why he's not exactly a chipper person. He is also apparently constantly accused of being a pedophile, even though that makes no logical sense and his honest attempt to help Maya get her parents back together ends with him being made a punching bag.
• The Woobie: Maya. She constantly has to witness her parents argue and is afraid it will eventually lead to a divorce. She attempts to renew their passion for each other with the help of Groundhawk, but ends up with a Broken Pedestal when the brutality of the fight reveals her parents' true natures. And then she has to hear them passionately make love the whole night, only to immediately go back to fighting the morning after. By the end of the short Maya is thoroughly disillusioned and no longer opposed in the slightest to her parents breaking up.
