  • Anvilicious: The series portrays a futuristic dictatorship caused by the modern threat of biological hazard, but its nationalistic tones, conservative ideology and general imagery all evoke very deliberately the old Francoist Spain, including some amusingly anachronistic 1940s-style clothing and atrezzo. This is not only another example of how Francoism is still the first thing Spaniards see when they think about authoritarism and dystopia, but also an unsubtle reminder to the viewer that, yep, the series takes place in a very bad place.
  • Cliché Storm: Many reviews, both positive and negative, noted that the series takes after many famous works of the dystopian genre and plays their tropes straight.
