- Awesome Music: The game's soundtrack qualifies as this, mixing energetic techno sounds with some tribal influences to make rocking songs to fit falling blocks to.
- The title theme to the Gamecube and Xbox versions might be unusually daunting for a game like Tetris, but it does get you pumped up to play a few rounds.
- The PC and PS2 versions' menu theme might be less memorable compared to the above, but it's still great in its own right for how calming it is.
- Scrappy Mechanic: The "easy spin" (later officially named "Infinity") — the lockdown timer is reset every time a Tetrimino is rotated, allowing players functionally infinite time to set their piece where they want it. The game design does make up for it by rewarding players specifically for accomplishing objectives quickly (so actually taking advantage of easy spin hurts you), but the mere fact that it substantially lowers the skill floor was enough to generate complaints that the game is too easy now.
