• Harsher in Hindsight: Raph and Splinter both tell Spike to chew on his leaf if he understands their frustrations and wants to hear a story respectively. He does so seemingly out of his own desire to eat rather than to answer either of them, with them acting as if it were an answer. However, next season when Spike mutates into Slash and reveals that he understood everything that was happening around him, it means perhaps he really did understand Raph's frustrations and want to hear Splinter's story.
• Informed Wrongness: Splinter does this to himself, believing that if he had not lost his temper with Shredder, he would not have lost Tang Shen and Miwa. What he fails to acknowledge is that Shredder is responsible for his own dark path as while Yoshi could have walked away from Shredder's insults, Saki chose to let the attack Yoshi laid on him fuel his cruelty rather than move on with his life and it is most likely that Saki would've killed Shen anyway even if Yoshi ignored him. To sum it up, whether Splinter would've lost his temper or not would have no change in the future and Saki choosing to kill him was of his own volition rather than Yoshi making him do it.
