Base-Breaking Character: Tanaka, whom people generally either find amusing or annoying because of no one calling him out on his lazy attitude.
Ensemble Dark Horse: Rino and Saya, the main characters' little sisters, are liked for being cute and funny. They also have good chemistry with each other and their brothers, meaning that they have a lot of solid scenes.
Genius Bonus: If you're familiar with the idea that doppelgangers are signs of bad luck or illness, and that seeing your own doppelganger will lead to death, Ohta's reaction to Rino is that much funnier.
Ho Yay: By the loads between Ohta and Tanaka—in the first chapter of the manga, Ohta is introduced physically moving Tanaka back to his seat while cleaning, before patting his back with flowers surrounding his person.
In the anime, instead of lending him his handkerchief when Tanaka gets one side of his bangs wet, Ohta withholds it on purpose thinking that he wanted to preserve his "breathtakingly beautiful listlessness."
On Tanaka's side, he teases that they should just get married when they grow older, and later outright imagines himself and Ohta as an old married couple, with the very words.
Tanaka also tells his guy friends that compared to the School Idol Shiraishi, he'd rather Ohta be his wife "because he could carry [him]." Shimura doesn't even bat an eyelash.
It's even lampshaded when Shiraishi asks Ohta if Tanaka likes anyone, and they think for a minute on all of the marriage mentions and suggestive comments before Ohta replies, "Me?!"
