YMMV / Super Charisma Bros

Go To

  • Anti-Climax Boss: Brynn in Charisma 2. Oh so much. or so you think. The fact that this same fight gets referenced in both Charisma VI and 7 pushes it into Author Appeal.
    • A variant occurs in the very first game, when Dudim is tasked to collect 75,000 coins, which is surprisingly easy when a coin worth exactly 75,000 coins floats by mere seconds after the level starts.
  • Better on DVD: The earlier games are honestly funnier and more entertaining played in a row rather than individually.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: sspp03's hobbies include shooting babies with a shotgun.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: In general, the games can be a bit... harder to play knowing that they eventually costed Vitiman his friendships with Cam and Geno. Their heavy investment in the games after 5 especially, since Vitiman wanted to focus on other endeavours (and in general, got tired of constant fangaming). With that said, Vitiman is much warmer nowadays about the older games, so perhaps putting someone's personal life under a microscope to judge their works as an aside isn't worth much in the end.
    • Super Charisma Bros 5's wacky plot about some of Vitiman's friends kidnapping Dudim under accusations that he's neglectful and never used them in any of the games? Not so wacky after one finds out that eventually Vitiman would break up with the person who represented Elecman as well as cut off all ties with the person who represented Madox.
    • That second one's blow is significantly lessened when one discovers that Madox and Vitiman have long since reconciled.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The seventh entry in a franchise long thought to be dormant is finally released in 2015? Sounds vaguely familiar
  • Obvious Beta: The sixth game is very clearly unfinished to some extent. You can actually kind of tell when Vitiman was at odds over the development of the game with the others: the moment the music stops being original tunes composed by Geno (and two by Vitiman) and the game starts feeling increasingly rushed into completion.
  • That One Level: The fucking typing level in Charisma 3. Luckily, it isn't that hard to cheat at it.
