• Deliberate Values Dissonance: Elvis is so enthralled by the music he hears from the local colored church, he decides to start attending their sermons instead of his family's usual white-only establishment. Naturally, his girlfriend's parents see him there, she has to break up with him, and the whole neighborhood knows about it by Tuesday, his own parents included. So, what does Elvis do? Stand his ground? Confront his fellow white man on the wrongness of their prejudice?...Nope, he promises her dad it won't happen again so they can get back together.
