- Hilarious in Hindsight: Loki showing up to parents' day for Iric and Alvi and referring to himself as "Uncle Loki" becomes much more hilarious with the reveal that their mother is The Enchantress, a Thor villain that Loki has had... a wide variety of relationships with over the years.
- Ho Yay: Iric/Doyle, as where there is Hate at First Sight there will be fans reading that as Belligerent Sexual Tension.
- Ugly Cute: Guslaug. He may be a huge Frost Giant, but's also adorable and a pretty nice guy, too.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Emily and Doyle's fight in Issue 17 is meant to be presented as Both Sides Have a Point in regards to Calvin's expulsion. But a lot of readers found it hard to root for Emily when she accuses Doyle of simply being salty that she snubbed him at the dance to comfort Calvin. Disregarding the fact that Emily apparently did not apologise or clarify things with Doyle, it feels like Emily's using it as a cheap way to gain the moral high ground.
- WTH, Costuming Department?: In Issue 9, we have an appearance of Scarlet Witch as a teacher who is dressed in the oddest combination of clothes. She wears a set of brown pants that button across her waist, a lavender, long-sleeved, button-down, high-collar shirt and her iconic red bustier corset that is worn over her shirt but under her pants. The outfit is a clash of colors that don't blend well combined with a highly uncomfortable layering of clothes.
