• Ass Pull: Michael extracting genetic samples from Beckett during "Misbegotten"? Plausible. Michael somehow recreating Beckett's personality and memories circa early Season Three? Implausible.
• Word of God: According to Joseph Mallozzi, there was an explanation for Clone Beckett having the memories and personality of his 'progenitor'. The idea was that the original Beckett and the team had an off-screen encounter with the Wraith circa late Season Two. Copies of their memory engrams had been created during this incident and stored in a Wraith database. Following "Misbegotten", Michael got access to the database, extracted the copy of Beckett's engrams, and integrated them into the clone during its development. The Writers Room had planned to delve into this hitherto unseen incident during Season 5 or later (along with the fate of the rest of the team's memory engrams), but ultimately it never came to pass.
