YMMV / Star Wars: Light of the Jedi

  • Harsherin Hindsight: The book devotes lines throughout Elzar Mann's personal arc signifying the difference between a Jedi Master and a Jedi Knight; explaining how a Knight is expected to use the Force in ways that prove reliable in their response to situations, and explain their actions before doing anything out of the ordinary. A Master is able to provide complex solutions through the Force because they have trust that the solution they are providing is the correct one. This distinction proves to be important in Anakin Skywalker's arc, where his quick thinking proves to be a in invaluable asset, but is incredibly unpredictable. This also is the downfall of Count Dooku, who's freedom as a Jedi Master to study with no oversight leads to him studying artifacts that lead to his fall despite having this greater understanding of the Force.
  • Salvaged Story: After The Last Jedi came out, one of the most polarizing parts of it was the infamous "Holdo Maneuver". Fan questioned why if lightspeed is that devastating a tactic, it isn't used more often. Light of the Jedi shows just how devastating it can be if a ship breaks up while going at lightspeed, thus explaining why it's a last-ditch effort.
