YMMV / Star Trek: The Animated Series: S1 E1 "Beyond the Farthest Star"

• Alternative Character Interpretation: The entity and its motivations. Sadist? Mad from loneliness? The episode never gives a clear indication as to what, if anything, it actually wants, aside from not being left alone.
• Forgotten Phlebotinum: The personal force fields which are actually only there to save money by not having to animate the characters in spacesuits.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The entity wants to head to the center of the galaxy. Not the last time Kirk has to deal with someone hijacking his ship to do that...
• Ho Yay: Just saying... the entity manages to get Kirk to fold by torturing Spock.
• Narm: While the entity itself is pretty unnerving, it loses all menace when it speaks in that high-pitched voice.
• Nightmare Fuel: The entity from the dead ship. Especially when it gets left behind on a dead star and pitifully begs "No...please...don't leave me!"
