• Ensemble Dark Horse: The Tholians are another one-off alien race who captured the attention of the viewers, becoming prominent in Expanded Universe works. Tholian fleets are a big presence in Starfleet Battles and major antagonists in Star Trek Online. They were even one of the first TOS races to get references in The Next Generation, though they wouldn't be seen onscreen again until Enterprise.
