YMMV / Star Trek: Lower Decks S4E09 "The Inner Fight"

• Aluminum Christmas Trees: Rain made of glass sounds like standard plot-convenient sci-fi weather, but at least one known exoplanet has that exact weather. (It should go without saying that such a planet would not otherwise have a breathable, oxygen atmosphere as the planet in this episode does.)
• He Panned It, Now He Sucks!: Seán Ferrick of TrekCulture got some major flak for his "Ups and Downs" review of this episode, citing both Mariner's backslide in attitude and connecting her to both "The First Duty" and "Lower Decks" via Sita and Nick. What many reviewers are pointing out is that it works perfectly and that people with PTSD, as Mariner shows, don't just magically get over it, which seems to be his frustration.
• I Knew It!: Fans long speculated that Mariner's age and posting to DS9 (revealed in S2) would have her fighting in the Dominion War. This episode confirms it.
• Unexpected Character:
  • Okay, who in the hell could have guessed that Nick Locarno was behind the attacks? (This one is such a deep cut that newer fans might be thinking "Who the hell is Nick Locarno?")
  • To a lesser extent, the two stranded Cardassians, since none of their ships were said to have been attacked.
