• Fridge Horror: In the first chapter, on the night Kiki Pew FitzSimmons disappears, one of Lipid House's groundskeepers quits his job and flees the estate, saying he can't go back to work "because of what I saw." When his boss presses him, "was it the missing woman you saw?", the groundskeeper shudders and murmurs, "sort of." Then the later chapters reveal that FitzSimmons was swallowed whole by a Burmese python, and the groundskeeper's response implies that he arrived just in time to watch her feet disappear down the snake's throat.
